Silicone Soft Contrasters

These soft contrasters are made from malleable stainless steel and coated with black silicone. While durable, they can be damaged or scratched if not handled properly.

  • Sterilization Methods: You may sterilize using ultrasonic baths, cleaners, disinfectors, alcohol, and various decontamination products.
  • Autoclaving: Autoclavable at temperatures up to 135°C (275°F). Ensure that the contraster is completely dry before autoclaving to prevent water spots.
  • Cleaning: Use clean water and mild soap for cleaning.
  • Avoid: Do not use abrasive products (like Scotch-Brite pads) or place in dishwashers.
  • Storage: Avoid exposing the contrasters to sunlight or bright light sources to prevent fading of the black silicone.

Classic Metal Contrasters and Aluminum Holder

These classic metal contrasters are made from anodized aluminum and are less resistant to certain sterilization processes.

  • Avoid: Do not use a dishwasher or disinfector. Do not use ultrasonic baths or abrasive products (like Scotch-Brite pads).
  • Disinfectants: Some disinfecting liquids are incompatible with aluminum. Refer to the instructions for your products (safe pH range is between 4 and 8).
  • Chemical Restrictions: Avoid using alkaline or acidic chemicals.
  • Sterilization: Autoclavable at temperatures up to 134°C, chemiclave at 132°C, or dry heat at 180°C.

Intraoral Dental Photography Mirrors Cleaning/Sterilization

Thank you for your interest in our intraoral mirrors. To ensure optimal results and longevity, please follow these tips and instructions:

  • Handling: These mirrors are made of glass and are strong, but can break if dropped, so handle with care.
  • Cleaning: The mirror surfaces can be cleaned with ordinary glass cleaner. Use a microfiber tissue for wiping, as paper towels can scratch the mirror surfaces.
  • Drying: Ensure mirrors are completely dry before placing them in an autoclave.
  • Sterilization: Can be sterilized using cold sterilization chemicals or autoclaved (18 minutes at 134°C or dry heat at 160°C). Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for chemical sterilants to avoid damage.
  • Avoid: Do not place the mirrors in ultrasonic cleaning devices or use bleach solutions. Do not stack mirrors directly on top of each other, as this can cause scratches.
  • Safety Notice: Any mirror with a chipped or scratched edge must be immediately discarded for safety reasons.
